All eyes were on Malta today as a historic Summit was held in the capital city, Valletta to discuss the issues of migration. All the European Leaders heads of state were present, along with many African leaders to discuss what they can do to minimize the influx of migrants into Europe and the stop the exodus of thousands of people escaping their countries. A staggering $1.8 billion were pledged to help African countries. The Final Declaration and Action Plan include the launching of projects
in Africa by the end of next year aimed at reintegrating returning
migrants into the community and labor market. The discussions took place amid growing disgruntlement in
Europe that little is being done to address the migratory crisis and
influx of refugees in member states.
