113 First Communicants

113 children receiving First Holy Communion this morning

A big day for 113 children who will be receiving their First Holy Communion today. A big rehearsal was held yesterday as the children practiced their readings, processions, postures, etc. A group photo will be taken this morning before the start of the Mass, and yesterday we posed the large group of children as a group, which will be repeated this morning in the First Communion outfits.

This day reminds me of my own First Holy Communion, back on June 29, 1958 at St Julian's parish church, my hometown church, where I was already serving as an altar-boy. It is a custom in Malta that every child has an official professional photo taken on that happy day. Please remember and pray for these 113 children and their families on this very special day for them.
