Baker City High School Graduation |
This is a prayer I offered yesterday on our Baker City Graduates. Of course it goes to all High School graduates who went through this annual ritual over the past few weeks:
Dear Lord, we ask a special blessing on these Seniors who are graduating from High School and move on to the College of their dreams. As they fondly remember the four years they spent in High School, remind them of their duties and obligations also towards those who helped them achieve their dreams. From their Kindergarten teacher to the High School Principal, from their baby-sitter to their baseball or softball coach, from their Spelling Bee instructor to their Science teacher, and everyone else who has somehow influenced their lives, and may they always remember them and cherish the insights and knowledge they inspired in them. From your 2nd Grade teacher who stopped a deluge of tears with a band-aid, to that 6th Grade substitute teacher whom you drove up the wall while she tried to keep control of a rowdy class of hyper pre-teens. From the band teacher who had to show extraordinary patience when the clarinets and flutes when they were completely off key to the Gym teacher who believed you had a cold and excused you from circling the track 4 times. May these graduates of 2013 be always respectful of their parents and superiors who have tried to mold a decent character in them.
Remember your friends, and as you make new ones, cherish the old ones. Be safe as you travel, and don’t forget that God still plays an important part in your life. Never take Him for granted or think that you may not need Him anymore in your life. May He continues to bless and guide you. And as you cherish your yesterdays and dream your tomorrows, make sure you sincerely and honestly live your todays. May God bless your footsteps wherever you go, and keep you happy and healthy always.
