Up close in Malta

The Maltese cross made out of filigree
I've shown you various images of Malta from my recent visit there, but when you get up close and personal with close-ups of various items, you will see the craftiness of the Maltese people in creating objects from what is available to them. This could be clay, limestone or simple designs with filigree, as these photos show. Church paraphernalia is very popular in the Maltese Islands and clay figurines of the many characters one finds around a church are very common, similar to the statuettes or figurines or pasturi we see in Maltese nativity scenes.
Statues, candlesticks and monsignori all made from clay
